This is just a place for me to store my stories for the future, for fun.
Nothing fancy, but it works for now.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
fan fiction

"4th of July"
Rating:
PG
Summary:
Sara and Grissom spend the Fourth of July together.
Story behind the story:
Written the wee a.m. hours of July 3, 2002. I watched Magnolia a few days before that and started looking up Aimee Mann lyrics and found the song "4th of July." It seemed angsty, so I decided to do a songfic, but it turned into this instead. The best laid plans and all that. I still like this story. It's cute and light and not depressing. Good stuff.

"Give Me A Chance"
Rating:
R
Summary:
After Grissom is hurt on a case, he and Sara need to make some decisions. Also, Sara is forced to reflect on her past and make peace.
Story behind the story:
Mid-January through late-May 2002. Novel-length, retarded, and with so many mechanics and usage errors it's not funny.

"One"
Rating:
PG
Summary:
Sara's last night before departing for her leave of absence.
Story behind the story:
I wrote this story in the wee a.m. hours of Monday, April 29, 2002. I couldn't sleep no matter what I did. I was a nervous wreck, though that's not unusual. I found out later that, strangely, a close family friend died while I was writing this story.

"Overcome"
Rating:
PG
Summary:
How do you cope with coping? One of the team has to deal with the supposed help granted to them.
Story behind the story:
Written fairly quickly, some time mid-April 2002. The only interesting thing about this story is the disappearance of all the files. Cute.

"Relinquishment"
Rating:
R for character death; really more like PG
Summary:
"Sara wondered what culture first used funerals..." A funeral, ice cream, tears...good stuff.
Story behind the story:
Written Tuesday, April 16 through Saturday, June 1, 2002. Check out the story of "Word Play" for the background of this fic as well. I finally finished it the day after a long conversation with someone about death, a conversation that helped me to sort some things out.

"Sense and Sensitivity"
Rating:
PG-13
Summary:
Grissom reflects, observes, and confides after the events of 'The Hunger Artist.'
Story behind the story:
Written Sunday, May 19, 2002. Post-ep for HA. First-person male perspective and an attempt to be artsy with sensory detail; both failed.

"Seize The Moment"
Rating: PG
Summary: Sara's hat inspires Grissom and a revealing conversation.
Story behind the story: Sunday, May 5, 2002. I really couldn't explain this story. It's one of my worst, it's odd, but I still wrote it so I'm still putting it here.

"Snowballs"
Rating:
PG-13
Summary:
Sara and Grissom together on a snowy night.
Story behind the story:
Written Monday, June 10 through Wednesday, June 12, 2002. Was originally the konference-kristmas-kissfic, but got shortened into...this.

"Word Play"
Rating:
PG-13
Summary:
Sara spends the night at Grissom's during a power outage and they play some games.
Story behind the story: Written Sunday, April 21, 2002. The story "Relinquishment" was orginally supposed to be based on the song "Horse" by Live. The premise was to work in the following verse:

It's the middle of the night and you're here
Playing dominoes and drinking beer
I try to think of something deep to say
But my well is dipping dry today
This got changed, through a lot of talking, into a story with no funeral, and the dominoes and beer were replaced with Scrabble and wine. "Relinquishment" became the so-called funeral fic long after this was finished.

"You Only Love My Mind"
Rating:
PG-13
Summary:
Nick hosts a conversation-filled barbecue.
Story behind the story:
July 4-5, 2002. And I maintain that there was no illegal activity involved in the creation of this fic.

The West Wing
fan fiction

"Easter Morning, 3 a.m."
Rating:
PG-13
Summary:
Donna has to deal with Josh and Sam's murders. (I'll fix the summary when ff.net stops being an ass.)
Story behind the story:
Heh, guess when I wrote this one. This was back when I was identifying with Donna. This was the compression of an entire album fic I had planned. That's so much bigger than a song fic. Somehow it ended up...this. I had such high hopes, too.

"For Crying Out Loud"
Rating:
PG
Summary:
CJ, Danny, a sweater, binders...
Story behind the story:
Written in school at the end of ninth grade, April and/or May 2001. My first non-TKR fan fiction. And I still love it. It's good, damnit!

"Life and Loyalty" - unfinished WIP
Rating:
PG-13
Summary: Something happens that changes CJs life and causes Toby to question her loyalty -- and his own.
Story behind the story: Let's not go there.

"Trying To Beat This"
Rating:
PG
Summary: CJs thoughts and feelings the day of the press conference. (The MS disclosal and Mrs. Landingham's death.
Story behind the story:
Summer 2001. I was trying to figure something out. The story didn't really help.

The Lone Gunmen
fan fiction

"Goodbye"
Rating:
PG
Summary:
Jimmy and Yves say goodbye after the events of 'Jump The Shark.'
Story behind the story:
April 24, 2002. After a battle with Percy, my incompetent guardian fanfic cherub, this story was written. I had to address the death of my beloved Byers, Frohike, and Langly. Chris Carter's a bastard.

As The World Turns
fan fiction

"Snow"
Rating:
PG
Summary:
John's thoughts on a random day during Barbara's trial.
Story behind the story:
February 10, 2002. I wrote this because I am the fandom's last remaining Barbara/John 'shipper, and I'm a big enough dork to write a story expressing that. Also, there wasn't much atwt fic that I could find, and I figured that pretty much anything would be appreciated. Haha, wrong. My first attempt at a first-person male perspective.
